Job #: C976 / C977
Location: Glens Falls, NY
Organ Type: Pipe
Building Type: Church
Date: C976 (Chancel) 2012, C977 (Gallery) Future
Music at First Presbyterian Church includes an aggressive program of concerts which usually include the church's pipe organs. The instruments are a 1972 III/60 Casavant, Opus 3170 installed in the rear gallery, and a Reuter Opus 2148 a IV/69 built in 1991 and installed in the chancel. Both instruments can be played from the chancel console, however there are controls allowing the organist to disable the Casavant from the chancel console and have the organs function independently. The two instruments working together, make this one of the 100 largest pipe organs in the world and the largest organ between New York City and Montreal.
Foley-Baker has maintained both organs for 10 years and were contracted to provide all new electronic relays linking and controlling both instruments and ongoing tonal improvements to the Chancel organ. The Chancel organ was completed in 2013, the Gallery is set for a future date.
