In 2008 Wakeley Pipe Organs was engaged to refurbish/rebuild the organ at St Michael's Uniting in Melbourne Australia. The basic console was kept the same, but new thumb piston rails were rebuilt. The chest magnets were changed and new drivers provided. In addition to regular Sunday services, the organ at St Michael's is also used for weekly free lunch time concerts for the public and several recitals with guest musicians throughout the year.

The control panel has been split in this installation, with the VFD (alphanumeric display) mounted independently, and the control pistons on a single row of push buttons on the key slip

Built in MIDI Sequencer for record & playback

50 independent combination memory levels with SFZ configurable on each level

250 step Registration Sequencer independent of memory levels with dedicated Next & Last pistons

Registration Sequencer may be converted to Piston Sequencer at any time by organist

Piston Coupling Pedal+Great and Pedal+Swell

12-step Transposer via UP/DOWN pistons

Three main chests (Great, Swell, and Choir), plus direct electric. Pipes, keys 57-61 for the Great and Choir Main chest have been done as direct electric
